Creative ways of counting field service time
by 4thgen inthere was a sister in my congregation that signed up to aux pioneer one month to put in 60 hours.
we couldn't figure out why she was never at the arrangements, but yet she said she got in her time early in the month.
we found out later that we wrote a letter that took her an hour.

stop at a garage sale leave a tract go to a return visit you know isn't home think of another one across town then stop at an apt laundromat (they used to have those) leave an old mag take a coffee break then another not at home return visit end the day with 6 hours

The circuit overseer looked at the congregation with a sinister stare for what seemed to be 5 minutes. apparently, some scurrilous gossip was spreading wildly throughout the circuit that brother Cretan was in fact as the scriptures state a glutton after a book study reported that he had consumed all of the chocolate cookies leaving none for anyone else when they served him lunch. he announced that the slanderous rumor was false because he had only eaten 10 cookies so the snide remark about his appetite was incorrect and by the way there was also a pineapple upsidedown cake and brownies available for the book study.

"This Generation" at the meeting today
by Batman89 init was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.
the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.
you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

Attn faders/lurkers re donations
by Skinnedsheep inwhen you get your anonymous survey pledge an exorbitant amount.
the elders will make the resolution based on the fake pledge and it will create conflict between the branch and the cong....when the donations don't come in the branch be like "pay the man".
the local body will have to have several local needs parts which will highlight the branches focus on money.

i didn't miss their doctrines, their erroneous thinking.
i never felt guilty because i abandoned the religion i was raised in.. i believe the reason for my not feeling guilty is pretty simple.

During my last 6 months in the org i felt it all unraveling and i felt uneasy but at the same time i knew it was over and it was just another dead end that i could check off my quest for the meaning of life list. It accually helped me to understand some of the pitfalls and traps in my own critical thinking ability.

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
